Nuwan Ganganath:

Yesterday I came to know that Dr. Waldemar Gorzkowski had passed away. It was a great shock for me. Though I've met him only once in IPhO 2005, I know that he was a person with excellent capabilities and did a great service to the IPhO as president of IPhO's. Especially he was a very friendly person and a beloved teacher.

Today I received a book which was posted by this great person. It was a one of most sorrowful moment in my life while IPhO still remaining as the most memorable event in my life thanks to this great person.

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your great service.
YOUR NAME IS IMMORTAL IN THE WORLD OF PHYSICS.

I am very sad about Wr.Waldemar Gorzowski dead.
He was a great person, very enthusiastic and very hard work to improve Physics Education.
I interchanged mails many times with him from 1970 and I met him in 2005 in Salamanca. Last June he sent several e-mails to me asking going to this year Olympiad although I have not been involved in that meetings. I never think that was the last time that we interchange opinions about Physics Education.
Thanks Waldemar for all your teaching.

We exchanged e-mails with Mr. Gorzkowski back in 2002-2003 regarding my student physics research. It was my deep regret to find out that he had passed away. Beyond all manner of doubt, science has lost a great person.
