See You Never, Asshole!
Saddam is gone, a sigh of relief silently passed through my heart calming the still vivid memories of red sirens and bombings and loud explosions. But then it wasn't only us in the capital, people closer to the border suffered much much more. And it wasn't only people of Iran that suffered the brutality of this scarecrow. Kurds in Halabja inside Iraq suffered his bombs at the same time with us. And it wasn't only us 18 years ago, people of Iraq suffered and are still suffering perhaps more than everyone else firstly because of international sanctions, then the heavy bombings that led to the occupation of Iraq and the ongoing terrorist attacks that is claiming tens of lives everyday.
And I'm pissed off that he was captured BUT wasn't tried for invading Iran, murdering our and his own people using conventional and unconventional weapons. Perhaps because supporters of Saddam and suppliers of those weapons did not want those deals to come out of the ashes again? Robert Frist has an article in The Independent worthy of reading.
