70% of Iran's University Graduates are Women
This BBC Persian article is amazing: 70% of Iran's university graduates are women! I think this number reflects the ongoing serious and radical change in the structure and organisation of the Iranian community.
Half a century ago, only men - 50% of the society - were dominant in controlling and running the country, from politics to business and science. Now the trend is changing big time, and a big chunk of the traditionally-passive female workforce has become active. This will change everything in Iran.
Why did this happen? Perhaps partly because the (male) educated middle class didn't have any problems with women's education. Also, despite all the negative factors of the revolutionary republic, they actually did heavily promote education for both men and women.
I think we should take in consideration that in recent years university degrees have lost a lot of value in iranian market. You can get job with your university's BA/BS or so on. i think it is one of reasons that men go less to expensive universities. I do not want to underestimate our women's intelligence or great work.Best
