Stop wanting?

Amir

The more I want, the more I think I need
The more I think I need, the more I depend on what I need
The more I depend on what I need, the harder I must work to ensure that I have enough of everything
The harder I work, the less I relax
The les I relax, the more stressed I become
The more stressed I become, the less people enjoy my company
The less people enjoy my company, the more I doubt myself
The more I doubt myself, the easier I am to exploit
The easier I am to exploit, the more insecure I feel
The more insecure I feel, the more security I want
And again... the more I want, the more I need!

Marketing and advertisement companies all over the world are at this moment creating new "needs" for us. They drive us on faster and faster until we get lost in a vicious but never being satisfied, gorging our senses but never filling the hole in out hearts and leaving us insecure and unsure of who we really are. We are encouraged to want more, to judge those who have less and to be embarrassed about the real fact.

* In this New Year, take a moment to stop and think what you really desire in life. Take a moment to look at the things that you fear most in life and the things you judge others on most. It is likely that whatever you desire most in life is also the thing of which you are most fearful and most judgmental.

- Happy Persian New Year to you and your family.
