Iran's role: Negative or Positive
A survey taken between October 2005 and January 2006 for the BBC World Service asked how 39,435 people in 33 nations across the globe saw various countries.
The outcome: Iran is the country most widely viewed as having a negative influence in the world. The US is second worst, whereas Europe has the most positive scores of all in the poll.
The interesting point is no country had a majority with a positive view of Iran's role in the world, apart from the Iranians themselves :) what does this tell you?
Iranian self confidence :) or the fact that we're playing in a (partly) unfair international game!

It tells me that we (Iranian people) think positively about ourselves and in our own point of view what we do is 'good' and positive. However, the Iranian government, which is not a good representative of people has successfully managed to ruin our image across the globe!

Honestly, does it matter? or rather, does it mean anything? that could just mean that the propaganda machine is working properly. if you ask those people why, they probably could not give one fact-backed or coherent answer. they would just regurtitate what is being fed them.

Loopy, it does matter, even if it's the product of the propaganda machine. That's what you see and hear when you travel around the world. "Are you from Iran? oh my god!!". OK you hear that in the US more than Europe, and you may have developed some kinda immunity to it, but it's not easy to say "does it matter?". I think it does, and we have a difficult task challenging the propaganda machine as you put it, or correcting general public's point of view.

the world's been having negative effects on iran since day 1; (stopped iran developing). the outcome resulted in mainly negative. propaganda, intelligent services, corruption, bullying from US,Uk, Europeans..,etc all route to this negativity.
