Iranian MPs rejected 3rd candidate for oil minister

Parthisan

image of ahmadinejad kissing the leaders handIt's amazing, probably the first time in the Iranian history that three candidates for a ministry (suggested by a president or king) have been rejected by the parliament. And this is happening when both the government and the parliament are more or less under the control of the conservatives. And also it's a week after the leader called for better co-operation with Ahmadinejad's government!

Fractures have started to show in the conservative camp. Will this lead to a more transparent government? Some may not like this, but I believe the theoretical lessons of Khatami's era have been learnt even by the conservatives. They've become more demanding and exercise their rights as MPs, independent from what the leader or other figures say, of course relatively speaking.
