The New National Library
Iran's new national library was officially opened today. It's huge, must be one of the biggest libraries in the world. The idea for a modern national library was first formed in 1973, but real serious steps were taken almost 15 years after that. Today after 32 years finally the dream came true. The head of the US Library of Congress visited the project during its final stages in November 2004.
Pir Raz has a brief history and some images of the construction phase of the project.
