King of the Skies
Tomorrow 18th of January, Airbus will reveal its latest product, the A380. It's not only the largest commercial/passenger aircraft, but also the only full-length twin-deck aircraft in the world. Also possibly the most luxurious one too, for it's much larger than the retired Concorde, and has more space for luxury. I think the A380 is going to replace the successful but old Boeing "Jumbo Jet" 747. It's larger and much more efficient, both in terms of fuel consumption, and the price/performance ratio for airlines. It's amazing to know that this huge passenger aircraft can fly a 15,000 km flight non-stop.
Enthusiast fans will be able to attend the programme tomorrow in the city of Toulouse in south of France. Chirac, Blair, Schroeder, and Zapatero -- representatives from the major Airbus partner countries -- will also be there for the event. If you can't make it to Toulouse like me, you can still watch the programme live on the internet at www.airbus.com.
Make sure to check their multimedia gallery for pictures of the aircraft and its luxurious interior. There are also beautiful wallpapers you could download for your screen.
P.S.: Also read BBC's report on A380.
