Kerry v Bush Briefly
I found these interesting information on the Metro newspaper today on the way to the university. It's a kind of information about Bush and Kerry that you don't read everywhere, so I kept the paper in order to write it in this blog. The paper says its website is www.metro.co.uk but I didn't find this particular article on the website.
Age
- Bush: 48
- Kerry: 51
Family Roots
- Bush: Scion of a wealthy oil and military family. Is distantly related to the British Royal family!
- Kerry: Family roots go back to the 19th century Aberdeen in Scotland. (comment: both are somehow connected to this island!!)
Education
- Bush: Yale Graduate. While at Yale he was a member of the secretive Skull and Bones Club, which hand picks members it considers to be future political and business leaders. (comment: was it becuase of his father that they took him in the club?)
- Kerry: Went to boarding school in Switzerland. Has French relatives, but has not mentioned that during the campaign. He's also a Yale graduate. Also member of the Skull and Bones Club. He is a well-connected son of a former diplomat and considered one of the richest men in the Senate. (comment: now Yale University is worth a visit! The fact that he has gone to school outside the States is reflected in his open attitude to the world).
Fact
- Bush: Hates being called 'Junior', so uses the W to distinguish himself from his father (comment: vay naz beshi..., he hates it). Bush is a born-again Christian, who converted not long after his 40th birthday, around the same time as giving up alcohol!
- Kerry: He served in Vietnam, and is a decorated hero who came home to campaign against the war.
Marriage
- Bush: Married to Laura and has twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna.
- Kerry: Married twice, second wife is Teresa Heinz, heiress to the ketchup and canned food fortune. Has two daughters from first marriage and three stepsons from the second. (comment: Mashalla he's such an AYALVAR person!!)
Dumbest quote during campaign
- Bush: Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we!!! (comment: migan taraf oomad harf bezane rah raft!!)
- Kerry: I actually did vote for the$87 billion [military funding bill for troops in Iraq], before I voted against it!!
the dumbest quote was very funny :D

Metro got it wrong about the age
President Bush was born on July 6, 1946 so he is 58.

John F. Kerry was born on December 11, 1943. He is 61.
