Alien signal from deep space?

Parthisan

For the first time the SETI@Home project has picked up signals that could have been sent by extraterrestrial intelligence. The signals came from a point between the Pisces and Aries constellations, and has been picked up three times by a telescope in Puerto Rico.

It was broadcast on a frequency which astronomers say is the most likely means by which aliens would advertise their presence. Although the New Scientist magazine said on Thursday the signal could be generated by a previously unknown astronomical phenomenon or even be a by-product from the telescope itself.

Wow ... interesting!! I must take a look at news and see what happens. Anyway, SETI@Home project is a very nice one and I've always loved that it would get some interesting results.

Many of my friends and I were big fans of SETI@Home, I used to have it as my screensaver until I got a laptop.

This story reminds me of the film "Contact".

thanks for the link, exciting news. even though i'm a seti user myself, i'm sometimes sceptical about this way of searching for e.t. life. but if they really get any contact from outer space, the whole meaning of life on earth will change.
