Women and the Constitutional Revolution

Nazanin

We are on the 98th anniversary of the constitutional revolution of Iran, the first major collective attempt to develop and establish democracy in our ancient homeland. I would like to invite you to read this interesting article about the role of women during the enlightenment period following the constitutional revolution (Link from Khorshid Khanoom).

I would also like to praise the persistent efforts of active Iranian women like Dr. Zand, who have single handedly initiated great social change projects such as the establishment of the first institution to battle child sexual abuse in Iran. One century of hard work for Iranian women, and still a long way to go.

Behrouz:

We, Iranian men, must ashame of our behaviour face to the women. Unfortunately it is because of our education and even here in Europe most of us usually considere the women less than nothing. Meanwhile some of us begin to undrestand that we were wrong. Wishing the success of all good persons (man or women).
