King Arthur

Mehdi Yahyaei

I just want to post my perception on one of the impressive movies whose name is King Arthur, to recommend you to see. I saw this movie yesterday. It left a huge impression on me. The story of Arthur and his knights goes back to 1500 years ago. Archaeologists are not sure that he ever actually lived or not. Kings Arthur who is a man for the ages is known with his knights and round table and lovely queen and holy grail and so on.

This movie clearly shows religious misunderstanding, which affected people. How a religious leader can trap his people.
An impressive part of this movie is how they made a decision. In my point of view that round table had so many meanings. Ideal consensus should be reached by discussion. A good leader is one who put himself/herself in the level of his/her knights. Very simple criteria, which has been forgotten basically in our country.

A man who felt in love with a girl 15 years ago but still was thinking about her but suddenly he was faced another girl and finally he lost his life in order to save the life of the girl...
Another emotional part of this movie was when they (the knights) were singing about their ambition to go back home.

Clearly, who is the free man? What is the meaning of freedom? These are the controversial issues, which are explained in this movie.

If I want to compare this movie with Troy. In terms of acting and special effect, troy is fairly better than this movie. On the other hand, In terms of music, king Arthur is in the level of Gladiator.
But on the whole King Arthur was better than Troy, since it is more meaningful than troy.

interestingly enough, there is a fascinating theory out there, that King arthur and his men, were originally Iranian. in the sense that they were part of the Alan tribes, that were battling the romans. and marcus arelius reached an agreement with them to represent the romans on the english isle but have their own rule, and re-christened their king as arturius. they were very advanced for their time and even 2000 years ago they had armour and weaponry of middle age knights, and had a much more advanced system of social rule. etc. but i only heard of this theory, but from a good source.

Thanks for the suggestion about the film, I saw it today and liked it. The battle scenes were good, I especially liked the archers. Although we made it to the hall a bit late and had to sit in the front which made us almost deaf! I guess the subwoofers are installed behind the screen and if you get too close it gets very loud (bad design, shame on UGC). The only thing is that half of the film is actually only battle scenes, they should have cut that part and added a bit to the story/conversations.

Superstring can you give me the source if it's online? Well based on the film that Lancelot guy lived in a tribe somewhere between Europe and Asia, so he might have been from an indo-european race. but why would and "iranian" accept to send his son to fight for the Roman empire for 15 years? As far as I remember the Romans never managed to defeat the Iranian empire. Anyway would be good if you share the source with us.

Cast and Crew:

The story of Arthur was the more realistic version of this famous legend, and that was a positive point for this film. The funniest thing I noticed was that the Saxon chief had such a strong American accent :)) and that is 1000 years before the discovery of the new world
