Chinese background, brought up in Singapore, immigrated to the United States, married his German wife whom he met in Denmark, moved to Britain to work in the highlands of Scotland, been to Iran twice and loved Abgoosht and Dizi!! This is the shortest way I could describe Malcom, the nice, young and energetic guy I met yesterday in the "Future Focus - Trend Briefing" seminar of The Future Laboratory.

I look at these people and wonder why we are so static in our lives. Is it our culture? a lazy heritage? Narrow Mindedness? I wonder...

I would say it is our sense of superiority that helds us back. This could be a result of all the reasons you suggested.

I guess this is cultural. There is no such thing as "exploration" in our lazy culture, at least in the past few generations.
