A boring line in the sand!
I don't know how many of you watched "A line in the sand", and what was your observation of this two part drama, but I feel it really doesn't even worth a discussion! The film tells us about "Kemp", a sales man of agricultural machinery in Iran. He goes to Bandar Abbas and the area looks like a desert (I should not wonder why most of my foreign friends think we live in desert!). His friends in Iran have evil faces and as I noticed one of them is eating Kebab with his hand! These customers had been using his gear to make explosive, not fertiliser and this had got him in to trouble with the authorities back home. In exchange for immunity from prosecution he had been obliged to do a little spying, but he had seen on TV what might happen to a spy in Iran!
When his information led to assassination of all of Iran's top weapon scientists, he had no choice to leave his family and take on a new identity. The film made this process so simple and quick. (I wonder how it is going to be in the reality!) British authorities didn't want him anymore but from the other side the Iranians had no forgiveness and a killer came all the way from Saudi to kill this spy! The funny part was to see him wearing kind of Iranian soldier uniform and he insists to wear it all the way, why and is it important?!
I don't want to bother you with the rest of this boring hide and seek story, at the end, the poor Kemp's partner was shot instead of him and Kemp killed the sniper by his hands (A person who should be extremely dangerous!!). There are lots of issues in this film that makes me wonder what was the point of wasting time and making it?! What did they want to show and prove to us? There was nothing special about the film; even acting was so poor along the rest of the story. I don't know maybe it is just my observation but I couldn't find any feeling for the whole idea. Please if you think I am wrong or have any other thing in mind let us know.
(1) The cheaper the TV production is, the more stereotypic the characters are, because the producers do very little research (no money in hand) and just recreate a stereotypical image of their subjects.
(2) Unfortunatelty the ugly faces are exactly what the official government media broadcast to the world. Just tune into the Iranian satellite TV and you will see the ugliest collection of people in the country presenting the programs and news. All of us know how unrealistic those images are.
(3) The Iranian government actually did a lot of dodgy things during Rafsanjani, of which some memories still remain!
I wish there was a way we could reflect your opinion about the TV series to the producers.

It was waste of time watching that crap drama! It was all made to mislead the public about Iranian nuclear programmes. But there was an very intersting point on that drama , I dont know if you notice it, MI6 did all the work behind the screen to kill the Iranian scientists but at the end they did not take any responsibilties and said : Isreal did the dirty job !!!

Basicaly ,when the aim of the movie is for political issues therfore directors forget the movie concept!!!!
i suggest to write a letter with the sign of all persian students in the uk and send it to ITV1 to show our protest regarding to this movie

Mohammad you're right, I believe it was showing more about the english and american politic and how dirty they are.
Mehdi do you think writing a letter would change anything? I don't think so, cause if you noticed they didn't even bother to put any link after the programme so the viewer can put their comments on itv's website!

It never harms to express our viewpoints Nazli, but we should do it precisely.
