Big Brother and Me!
The new series of Big Brother is on air, this time the members are strange complex of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and a Moslem amongst others. I never liked big brother from the first time I watched it, there are of course lots of reality TV shows in UK TV (Joe Millionaire, Paradise hotel, ...) but I couldn't make any connection with this programme at all. Don't know maybe because I am not from this culture and watching some young boys and girls doing stupid things wouldn't entertain me, I don't know. It is good if you give me your idea as well, as a foreigner with a different culture what do you think about programmes like Big Brother? I have some other stuff in my mind to write about UK TV in general which I will post later. Please keep reading.
I never allowed myself to sit and watch big brother, especially because both my British flatmates were almost addicted and I could see how much time they were wasting on it (but hey they were undergrads and had more spare time than me). At least in Big Brother you vote and there is some point in it, but this Paradise Hotel is absolutely stupid.
Apart from the HUGE money that the producers make out of advertisement and mobile/telephone voting, I always suspected that there is a (psychological?) research going on behind the scene of programmes such as the Big Brother, on the relationship between a group, and the way people perceive and react to it outside.

This series of BB is the most stupid one,as Nazli said it is wide variety of irrelevant people.I have watched it sometimes after work, can say not me nor one of my colleagues like this series. The whole diea of big brother is to make money, but this year the rules have changes and the competitors might end up with nothing.
As we all know, the whole idea of Big Brother started by Americans and then copied by British tv.No point at all in this reality shows just to be on tv for a while,do some crazy stuff and your friends and family will vote for you.So what????
